Report: Lions eyeing Seahawks GM

The Detroit Lions relieved GM Bob Quinn of his duties the day after their 41-25 loss on Thanksgiving. Since then the organization has brought in the likes of Chris Spielman and Barry Sanders to help select the best fit for the team going forward.

Louis Riddick has been the most popular name amongst the interviewees. Riddick is a former scout for the Philadelphia Eagles, and current analyst on Monday Night Football. Thomas Dimitrioff, Scott Pioli and Rick Smith have been interviewed; as well as three internal candidates scouting director Scott Lohman, personnel director Lance Newmark and VP of player personnel Kyle O’Brien.

Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Lions may have their eyes shifting to another external candidate; Seattle Seahawks GM John Schneider. Undoubtedly, this would be one of the biggest front office moves in Lions history. The move could also give Schneider something that he does not currently have with the Seahawks- full control. Schneider is one of the most respected general managers in the league and during his tenure has seen a Seahawks record of 111-63-1.

It’s been reported that the Lions are in pursuit of an experienced GM; leaving the report of Schneider being on the radar a much more feasible option.
