    What They’ve Said

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell has warned his team against complacency and wants them ready for this game. Here is what he told reporters this week:

“The biggest opponent right now for us is really the satisfaction, complacency. That is what we’re going to fight from here on out. I understand why you’d ask it and why it is a big story because it’s been 30 years. But if we continue to talk about it, answer them, and live in that moment, we’re not getting to the next thing. And it’s really no different than what happens in the playoffs. You win a big game in the playoffs; well, you don’t have time to really enjoy it. You’ve got to get ready for the next one, and that’s where we’re at.”

Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy said the following:

“I think this will be our biggest challenge of the year. Just based on what we’ve seen on video. I think this is gonna be a heck of a game.”

    What Is at Stake?

A Lions win would make this the most successful regular season Detroit has had in the 21st century. Moreover, Detroit could move up to the NFC’s number two seed with a win.

The Cowboys have lost their last two games. They will be desperate to snap that losing streak and celebrate a big win on the day Jimmy Johnson enters the club’s Ring of Honor.
