Dan Campbell took to the podium on Tuesday to discuss the Detroit Lions’ current situation.
Thanks to their 31-9 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football, the Lions will not play on Wildcard Weekend.
That will allow the injury-ravaged roster to recover and refresh ahead of their final push.
And a fan-favorite may return to the field very soon.
Knuckles Is Due To Return
The main headline from Dan Campbell’s press conference is the expectation that Running Back David Montgomery should return for round two.
Montgomery missed the last portion of the regular season with a knee injury.
The Lions feared the worst then, but after visits to three specialists, Detroit chose not to put Montgomery on injured reserve.
The former Chicago Bear has rehabbed the knee injury and looks ready to return.

Promising News on Terrion Arnold
Rookie Cornerback Terrion Arnold enjoyed his best game of the season in Week 18. He played his part in a stifling defensive performance but left the game with a foot injury.
Arnold left the field with a severe limp and the stadium in a boot, but the scans came back negative.
Arnold told reporters he would play next week, and Coach Campbell is optimistic. The Alabama product has a foot contusion and is day-to-day.
Furthermore, Campell offered a positive update on Kevin Zeitler. The experienced Guard left the game with a hamstring injury, but it is not considered serious.
And lastly, there was a positive update on Ennis Rakestraw. The rookie has struggled with an injury-hit campaign, but Campbell is hopeful:
“I do think we get Rake back. I think there is a chance. He is trending the right way.”
The Not So Good News
Pat O’Connor’s season is likely over. Campbell confirmed that the news regarding O’Connor’s injury was not good.
Carlton Davis and Derrick Barnes will also not return this season.
