Jared Goff Good to Go as Lions Battle Injury Worries

Jared Goff allayed fears of an ankle injury at Wednesday’s practice session. The veteran quarterback did not participate during the session due to a rolled ankle he picked up against the Tennessee Titans last Sunday.

Goff suffered the injury in the first half following a heavy sack. The 30-year-old did finish the game but was hobbling throughout. The Detroit Lions listed Goff on the injury report following practice.

Despite missing the session, Goff confirmed that he would be fine. Speaking to reporters, Goff said:

“I mean, you guys saw it, just rolled it, get an extra day, and it should be fine.”

Goff’s health is a big positive. Nevertheless, the Lions still have injury concerns across the team. Head coach Dan Campbell confirmed that they would rest several players.

The Lions rested Frank Ragnow, D.J Reader, Kevin Zeitler and Levi Onwuzurike.

Linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez also missed the session. Rodriguez sustained an ankle injury last week. Taylor Decker was another player on the injury report. However, unlike his veteran teammates, Decker was not rested but out with a chest injury.

Furthermore, Dan Campbell provided an update on Josh Paschal. Paschal missed out due to illness, and Campbell branded Paschal’s status as ‘TBD’ for gameday.

It would be a significant loss for the Lions if Paschal misses this Sunday’s game at Green Bay. It would leave Al-Quadin Muhammad, Levi Onwuzurike, James Houston and Mekhi Wingo to carry Detroit’s defensive end position.

    Packers Injury Report

The Green Bay Packers have their own injury questions to answer. Quarterback Jordan Love did not take part at all. Love exercised on a bike before returning inside as the star quarterback battles a groin injury.

Linemen Elgton Jenkins, Rasheed Walker, and Josh Myers also sat out. The Packers’ good news is that linebacker Quay Walker was a full participant as he worked his way through the concussion protocol.
