Dan Campbell: ‘I Have Controlled Fury’

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell spoke to the press on Monday after the Lions’ loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night. In typical fashion, Campbell came out fighting.

In his opening statement, the Lions head coach said:

“I’ve got controlled fury, and I’m ready to go. … We will use this as fuel. I’ve got pure octane right now.”

Campbell also confirmed that he did diagram the two-point play on paper before the game:

“I had it on a piece of paper.”

Before moving on to other topics, Campbell confirmed that Lions president Rod Wood is now dealing with the NFL on this matter.

The third-year head coach confirmed that Sam LaPorta is all good. Wideout Jameson Williams is day-to-day with his ankle injury.

Dan Campbell also updated the statuses of CJ Gardner-Johnson, James Houston and Jason Cabinda. He hopes the trio will feature during Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Moreover, he suggested that the starters would play against the Vikings. The Lions can still win the NFC’s second seed. However, they require the Dallas Cowboys to lose to the Washington Commanders.
